A Little About Us

The current Ruppel Auto Service, Inc., began operation in 1955, at its present location, as the Colyer-Ruppel Motor Company. Lester Ruppel bought out Mr. Colyer's interest in the business and dropped the new and used car sales, concentrating instead on the repair business.
Mike Ruppel, Lester's son, began working in the shop in 1966, becoming a full-time mechanic in 1972. Lester and Mike worked together until 1992 when Lester retired. Mike and his wife, Teresa, are now the current owners. Mike is a member of the Alliance of Automotive Service Professionals (past chapter president), the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, and the Jackson Optimist Club (past president). He achieved the Master Technician and the L1 Advanced Engine Performance Specialist certifications from ASE (Automotive Service Excellence), a testing program recognized by the automotive industry. Ruppel's also employs two other full-time mechanics.
In 1999, after undergoing an extensive evaluation process by AAA, Ruppel Auto Service earned the designation as a "AAA Approved Auto Repair" service center. Ruppel Auto Service is also a "NAPA Auto Care Center" and a "A/C Delco Total Service Support" shop.
